Haiti: humanitarian air service

The story

In 2022 we ferried a Twin Otter from Altenrhein to Haiti to support the UN humanitarian air service. The route went north over the Atlantic via Greenland and Canada, in an aircraft with a range more suited to island hopping, then south to the Caribbean.

In Haiti, with roads often impassable or unsafe, the aircraft links Port-au-Prince with the rest of the country. Zimex Twin Otters still fly between Port-au-Prince and Cap-Haïtien.
