ATR 42-500
The ATR 42-500 is the faster, quieter version of ATR's 48-seat regional airliner. It has six-blade propellers, more power, and a cabin treated for noise and vibration. Ours, HB-ALN, is based at Basel EuroAirport. From there it flies government and military rotations, sports teams, tour groups and relief flights.
Six blades
Hamilton Sundstrand 568F propellers, with PW127F engines behind them. Six blades instead of four means a smoother, quieter ride.
Basel to Pristina
About two and a half hours, without a fuel stop.
Room for kit
9.6 m³ in the holds, 12.25 m³ with the overhead bins, which take items up to 2 m long.
Three countries at the door
Basel EuroAirport serves Switzerland, France and Germany from one terminal.

Bags and kit
Holds front and rear, and bins big enough for skis. Rowing boats go by road.

From Basel: 703 nautical miles with every seat full.
Enough to reach Pristina, Sarajevo, Berlin or Barcelona without a stop. Longer trips take one fuel stop.
