ATR 72 Freighter
The ATR 72 started as a 70-seat regional airliner. With the seats out, the floor strengthened and a cargo door cut in, it became one of the most common regional freighters in the world. It's wide for its size, quick to load, and cheap enough to run that express networks fly it every night.
We fly two, on night express routes across north-west Europe. HB-AFJ is a bulk freighter with the standard forward cargo door. HB-AFN has a large cargo door almost three metres wide, which takes pallets and containers.
Truck-bed sill height
On HB-AFN the large cargo door's sill is 1.05 m off the ground, about the height of a truck bed, so freight can come straight across from the truck.
400 kg/m² floor
The main deck floor is 2.26 m wide and rated at 400 kg per square metre.

Seats out, reinforced floor in, cargo nets and a barrier net behind the flight deck. Loaded by hand or on rollers: mail and parcels, automotive parts, dangerous goods, live animals, instruments and art, humanitarian cargo.

From Maastricht: about 800 nautical miles.
That's ATR's figure for an all-bulk load at typical density. It covers the British Isles, Scandinavia and most of central Europe without a stop. With a lighter load the ATR 72 goes further: about 1,030 nm with 7.5 tonnes.
